Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is required where minimal surface disturbance is required. Some instances include sidewalks, roadways, buildings or other surface level structures. This method of installing tracer wire requires a much higher strength or break load to withstand the harshness and pull strength of the machine. Several options are recommended including: Extra High Strength Copper Clad Steel (CCS) and Extra High Strength Stainless Steel (SS).
